TNL35 - Run Walk Run.

TNL35 - Run Walk Run.

Today Liam talk's to Geoff about changing the way he is approaching his first marathon and is thinking about introducing a Run Walk Run method to his approach for the marathon.

Heard on the a recent Marathon Training academy podcast,  Jeff Galloway was a guest on the show and talked about his approach to finishing marathons.

Jeff the 1972 10000M Olympian realised that he could help beginners more, by allowing them to walk at the time they couldn't go any further whilst running. Many years and participants later, and Jeff has workout out a formulae that may help us all to finish our goals.

Liam and Jeff discuss the advantages and disadvantages to this method, and wether or not Liam should use it to help him cross the line in August.

UB171 - I Gesticulate

UB171 - Ass Tits...

Before we get on to the show notes, we should point out that this show was a tough one to record. The God's of the internet were not on our side, and as such kept us from recording a show. Having had enough of our usual communications provider, we went in search of a new one. had too much fun, and never really recorded anything after that.

As for the actual show notes, Queen's of the Stone Age, Gin, and Girls Toilets should just about cover it.

Watch out for the the bits at the end of the show, They are just sample recordings of us testing the new provider, and probably need to see what we are doing to understand what's going on, but we will work on that in due course!!

TNL32 - Smile Every Mile. - Life, The Ultimate Ultra Marathon

Prepare to have your eyes opened by our first guest on The Next Level Podcast, William, the 28 year plant based Ultra Runner from Glasgow, stops by and shares his story with us.

We originally brought him on to talk about his super low resting heart rate of 36 BPM. but once we started talking, we uncovered a story that is jaw droppingley awe inspiring.

Coming literally from the depths rock bottom and with only the sheer will and determination to complete his first marathon, to prove to his daughter that he could do something, we learn that without a single yard of training, and a pair of walking shoes on his feet, William, in agony, completes the marathon distance.

His story doesn’t just stop there, it is only the beginning, but rather than try and explain it to you, these are William’s own words.

“Everywhere I go in life people seem to connect with me in all different ways. I don't think I've had a disagreement with anyone in person in the last few years of this life and lifestyle but in the past when I was the fat football fan with beer and a loud voice obviously I attracted what I got in that lifestyle and old ways don't open new doors.

Online the odd person has been against the diet or some other things like me choosing to do more miles in training than others train for at events not understanding that I set out to be the best I can be and I'm not in a competition with another human because what I've already beaten in life no human could come close to that. I've got out of a foreign mental asylum to run 100 miles and live a phenomenal life now by choosing to raise the standards of myself to live this way & my only competition is and always will be with myself, to be the best I can be

Studying the past and the challenging comments it made me think a lot and that most people read words with their own tone of voice so if there's anything they disagree with then it's because it's there own tone of voice they read it with, so I've came of all the chit chat pages and group talk to focus completely in my own growth and lifestyle and if people get injured and eat meat they shouldn't get angry at me sharing that I had the injuries, bad heart, dodgy knees and so on and chose health as a priority and turned it all around, went vegan and to plant based way of life and I have no opinions on others I just know how I felt when I ate shit. By sharing my own transformation it should never offend anyone because I'm not competing with anyone or out to do anything but share this health, lifestyle and performance to show that anyone can do it and I do it for the animals also because nobody else I know does! Nobody has ever commented under my videos with a disagreement because tone of voice & how you say things is everything and I don't disagree with others I just agree with myself. You can feel emotion and heart through voice and nobody can question that what I'm doing is not healthy? I'm not a doctor, a physio or anything like that, I am an example of change, inner peace and the plant based lifestyle that anyone can use & if you study my past then you will know who I am and why I do what I do. Take from me what you want but please don't argue with it because numbers don't lie and I share my change not for entertainment, I do it to change all the living beings life's around me. Weight 135kg to 80kg, marathon 4:53 to 3:11, resting heart rate 80 to 36 just for a start and the other numbers I just keep personal 🌍

I've got my friends texting me saying there mum was talking about a motivational guy in the sauna, ladies in Tesco asking about my food then losing weight and feeling great with plants and the people in high places saying I should be talking here or there and an inbox full of doctors, high paid people and mental health nurses telling me that I should be doing this or that in certain places & talking to groups but right now I'm doing what works for me with no ties and I'm just back from the hairdressers and guy in there said I got him of cigarettes and made him sign up to an adventure holiday up north but the reality was that it was him that done it, I was just the mirror to see himself for a while (that was a few weeks ago but got the flash back when I was in today having a laugh with everyone). I just share my example openly but I value my time very much because it's something I can't get more of in life, so I share my life online with many others and if people want to then they can click on my name, share it with others and comment and I will leave all the clues and answer all the questions if they want to learn. I've not taken some great opportunities for the same reason I've chose to stay single for a long time just now because I want to stay true to myself, the lifestyle, the peace, the freedom and the health benefits. I'm already getting help from a major sports brand and I've only been running 19 months & have everything and more than I ever wanted in life so I'm not willing to give up my time that I spend celebrating my inner victory and long run to freedom for anything and when people talk money then how much do you pay someone who's empowered your life? How much do you pay someone who got your kid out of suicidal thinking to then climb mountains? Money is a means of exchange to get you what you want to live a fulfilling life it's not monopoly you can leave the board to do other things! I'm not here to entertain people or answer criticism I'm alive and here to share my example and impact life's. So weather you see me in the forrest, on a bus, in the sauna or in a waiting room somewhere then you are going to feel empowered and that's just the way it is because I am a 24/7 crazy, obsessed, driven and focused person in what I do and when you are around me then you are going to raise your own game in the process, so let go of all the arguments against the labels like veganism because you like your chicken or 100 miles because you don't do that in your car and just understand these are my own choices I made and you only have to make your own choices. So me now sharing my sport and diet is only a small scale of what matters and has happened in life and I'm never going to stop living this way now.

It's who I am,
it's what I love.
To run, to breathe,
to write, to think
& to experience life this way,
this...  is MY ultra
